Finding quality internships can be challenging, and you are not alone in this struggle! Recognizing this need, Global Student Solutions (GSS) developed the Global Ambassador program to provide students with real world experiences to put their academic knowledge into practice. Our internships are designed similarly to independent study courses at universities, offering flexibility and personalized learning.

All internships are unpaid with mentorship and a recommendation letter, and can be structured for academic credit. Roles with outreach, affiliate, or sales components include performance-based earning potential, including the ability to earn affiliate commissions from GSS's community membership program.

School Partnership Outreach Intern
Outreach

Do you enjoy connecting with educators and building relationships across borders? This internship is built for communicators with a global impact mindset. You will help GSS identify, research, and connect with international schools across Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, the schools that serve TCKs and internationally mobile families at the heart of everything we do.

Responsibilities:

  • Research international schools by region (soft focus on West Africa) and build out CRM records in HubSpot.
  • Draft personalized outreach emails and school partnership proposals aligned to GSS membership tiers.
  • Track communication history and support follow-up cadences.
  • Identify relevant school conferences, professional development events, and AISA-affiliated networks.
  • Support field outreach efforts to schools in East Africa.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Organized, reliable, and comfortable with structured outreach.
  • Excellent written communication skills. You write clearly and warmly.
  • Interest in international education, global partnerships, or TCK community development.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Notion, or similar CRM/project management tools is a plus.
  • Connection to West or East Africa is a strong advantage.

Compensation:

Unpaid with mentorship and recommendation letter (can be structured for credit). Performance-based bonus opportunities for successful school sign-ons.

Affiliate & Sponsor Partnerships Intern
Partnerships

Are you a networker who loves building win-win relationships? GSS is growing its affiliate partner network and securing sponsorships for the Global Student Voices podcast. This role is your chance to build real business development skills while connecting organizations to a mission you believe in.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and reach out to potential affiliate partners, individuals and organizations aligned with global education, TCK families, and international schools.
  • Draft affiliate partnership proposals and onboarding materials.
  • Manage the GSS affiliate program through our online community platform (commission tracking, link sharing, partner communications).
  • Research and pitch potential podcast sponsors for Global Student Voices.
  • Assist in creating and updating sponsorship packages.
  • Track outreach history and partnership pipeline in CRM.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Confident communicator: comfortable sending cold outreach and following up professionally.
  • Interest in business development, marketing, or nonprofit partnerships.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with affiliate marketing concepts is a plus (we will train the right person).
  • Global mindset: you understand or have lived the internationally mobile experience.

Compensation:

Unpaid base with significant performance-based earning potential. Interns earn affiliate commissions on GSS community memberships and partner referrals. This role has the highest earning ceiling of any GSS internship.

Community Builder Intern
Community

Do you love bringing people together and building online spaces that actually feel alive? The Global Student Network (GSN) is GSS's community online home where internationally mobile students, TCK families, and global education advocates connect, learn, and grow. We need someone to help build it out, populate it with great content, and keep members engaged across our four membership tiers.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, organize, and populate the GSN community (courses, resources, discussion spaces, events) in our platform (platform TBD).
  • Create and schedule weekly engagement posts, prompts, and community challenges.
  • Welcome new members and support onboarding across all subscription tiers.
  • Surface member wins and spotlights to team.
  • Monitor community health metrics and suggest improvements to layout, content, and programming.
  • Support promotion of the GSS affiliate program within the platform.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Active community builder. You run a group, club, Discord, or online community or have in the past.
  • Strong written voice that is warm, clear, and culturally aware.
  • Familiarity with community platforms such as Skool, Circle or Mighty Networks.
  • TCK, MK, or internationally mobile background is a significant advantage. You are the community you are building!
  • Self-directed and creative and comfortable working with minimal supervision.

Compensation:

Unpaid with mentorship and recommendation letter (can be structured for credit). Eligible for affiliate commissions on member referrals through the GSS affiliate program.

Editorial & Thought Leadership Intern

Are you passionate about global education and the power of a well-told story? Join GSS to help shape the voice behind one of international education's most trusted brands. You will support Coach Scott Martin's publishing, article, and curriculum work: researching, drafting, and refining content that reaches globally mobile students and families around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Research trends in international university admissions, TCK development, and global career readiness.
  • Draft and refine articles, blog posts, resource guides, and newsletter content using the SNAP storytelling framework (Situation → Need → Action → Payoff).
  • Support content updates for Coach's books and curriculum resources.
  • Curate student success stories and spotlights for use across platforms.
  • Assist with show notes, episode summaries, and resource links for the Global Student Voices podcast.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong writing and research skills. You write clearly and can adapt your voice.
  • Familiarity with global education, TCK life, or internationally mobile families.
  • Organized, reliable, and deadline-driven.
  • Experience with SNAP-style or structured storytelling frameworks is a plus.

Mobile App Developer Intern

Are you a student developer excited to build something meaningful?
GSS is developing a branded mobile app to serve as the front door for the Global Student Network (GSN) community on Skool. Think of it as a companion app — giving our globally mobile members a branded, mobile-first landing spot that connects them directly into the GSN experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Help design and build the Global Student Network mobile app.
  • Collaborate with the team to define features, user flows, and onboarding experience
  • Work with backend tools and APIs for profiles, messaging, and events.
  • Test and debug across iOS and Android devices.
  • Document architecture and hand off clean code with build notes.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience with mobile app development (React Native, Flutter, or similar).
  • Understanding of UX/UI and wireframing tools.
  • Creative problem-solver with an eye for design.
  • Passionate about building technology with real social impact.

IT Systems and CRM Intern

Are you a systems thinker or aspiring tech consultant? This internship gives you real-world experience with CRM tools, automation platforms, and project management systems — helping build the internal infrastructure that allows GSS to scale its services to schools and students worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and clean data in HubSpot (contacts, school records).
  • Document workflows and suggest process improvements.
  • Support GSN online community technical setup alongside the Community builder intern.
  • Assist with external EdTech audits and technology planning work with research, documentation, and tool testing.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience or strong interest in operations, data, or system design.
  • Tech-savvy, curious, and reliable.
  • Familiarity with CRMs, Zapier, Notion, Skool, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Interest in EdTech or international school IT is a bonus.

Podcast & Media Production Intern (Global Student Voices)

Are you a podcast lover with editing skills and a global mindset? Join the production team behind Global Student Voices, a podcast amplifying international student stories and insights from education leaders worldwide.  You will work within GSS's SNAP-based six-format content suite, turning each episode into a full set of repurposed assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and publish podcast episodes (audio and video) using tools like Descript, Audacity, or Adobe.
  • Produce the full six-format SNAP content suite per episode: show notes, social captions, short clips, quote graphics, email summary, and resource list.
  • Create short video/audio clips for Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts.
  • Help identify guests and prepare research briefs and talking point outlines.
  • Track listener engagement and analytics

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience with podcast editing tools (Audacity, Descript, Adobe, CapCut, etc.).
  • Strong communication and storytelling instincts.
  • Interest in global education, or student advocacy or media production.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working to a production schedule.

Why does GSS offer internships?

We have seen how valuable work experience is both for getting into university and for launching a career. GSS staff enjoy mentoring the next generation of global leaders as they develop skills across writing, tech, outreach, and community building. Students gain meaningful experience, and GSS gains fresh ideas that fuel our mission.

What is your approach?

Are your internships paid?

All internships are unpaid, however, roles with outreach, sales, or affiliate components include performance-based earning potential, including recurring affiliate commissions from GSS's new online community membership program.

The Affiliate & Sponsor Partnerships intern has the highest earning ceiling.

What is the time commitment?

Each role lists an initial commitment period (typically 8 weeks). Internships are renewable based on mutual agreement and intern performance. We do not run fixed seasonal cohorts. We recruit on a rolling basis so you can start when you are ready.

Can I earn academic credit?

Yes. We can structure your internship to align with your university's credit requirements.

 

Does GSS have an affiliate program?

Yes. GSS runs an affiliate program through our online community platform. Interns in outreach and partnership roles are eligible to earn commissions. External affiliates (individuals and organizations)  are also welcome. Send us an email to info@globalstudentweb.org to express your interest.
